Barber / IL Licensed Instructor

Our Academy is seeking a passionate, motivated, and experienced Illinois Licensed Barber Educator to join our team.

Position Overview

The Barber Educator is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both theory and hands-on technical training, while upholding the academy’s standards, systems, and professional culture. This role plays a vital part in shaping confident, skilled, and industry-ready graduates.

Requirements

• Active Illinois Barber License (required)
• Previous teaching or mentoring experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of barber theory and practical curriculum
• Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
• Committed to following academy policies and clinic systems to ensure consistency in student education

Responsibilities

• Teach and demonstrate foundational and advanced barbering techniques, including:
• Taper cuts and fades
• Shaving and razor work
• Hair color services
• Perms and chemical services
• Relaxers
• Styling and finishing techniques
• Deliver comprehensive theory instruction aligned with the Illinois barber curriculum
• Supervise and coach students during student clinic floor services
• Ensure consistency in technical standards and guest experience
• Administer written and practical assessments
• Maintain a positive, structured, and professional learning environment

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
