GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Premium Hair Stylist is pivotal in engaging with clients, providing hair care consultations, and recommending products and services tailored to their needs. You will deliver high-quality professional services with a focus on enhancing the client's overall appearance. Supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, your emphasis will be on performance (service sales and productivity), relationships (client service), and processes (operational procedures and compliance). This role demands a genuine passion for beauty, exceptional customer service, and the ability to effectively communicate product knowledge.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Premium Hair Stylist is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them consistently by performing the following duties:

• Provide a range of hair services including hair design, cuts, color treatments, styling, and makeup applications.
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales target of $1900 and productivity expectations for hair services by delivering outstanding customer service while contributing to the store's overall sales and guest loyalty goals.
• Conduct product demonstrations with guests to enhance their experience and drive sales.
• Help execute in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to offer an exceptional guest experience.
• Stay updated on industry trends, products, and services, enhancing your ability to serve guests effectively.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

PEOPLE

Establish and nurture guest relationships through personalized consultations and effective recommendations.

• Serve all clients, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work collaboratively with skin therapists and retail teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners, focusing on exceptional guest service.
• Communicate the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit offerings and the Ulta Beauty app, to clients.
• Participate in mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

PROCESS

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Ulta Beauty's policies and ensure compliance at all levels.

• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services, adhering to state board guidelines.
• Implement established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Utilize booking and client management systems to schedule return visits and special events for guests.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager, ensuring guest preparedness.
• Maintain pristine operational standards, including cleanliness throughout the salon and store areas.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty's dress code at all times.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention practices and outstanding guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Active Cosmetology license.

EXPERIENCE

• Relevant experience in a similar role is essential.

SKILLS

• Expertise in the latest salon techniques for cuts, color, styling, and makeup.
• Proficient in using salon equipment and products effectively.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup items.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Adept at building and maintaining client relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Activities include continuous mobility, frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs, bending, reaching and standing for extended periods, and coordination during shifts.

The compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 - $23.60 per hour or services pay for the workweek as per the Services Compensation Plan. Actual pay will be affected by various factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and location. Eligible associates may also receive overtime pay and tips. Full-time positions come with benefits such as paid time off, health insurance, and other perks, while part-time roles offer dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
