Cosmetology Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Cosmetology Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various cosmetology disciplines and a strong background in adult education. This role involves delivering comprehensive instruction to aspiring beauty professionals, ensuring they acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for successful careers in the beauty industry. The instructor will develop lesson plans, facilitate engaging classroom experiences, and stay current with industry trends and techniques to provide students with a competitive edge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive lessons covering topics such as hair styling, hair coloring, facials, makeup application, nail care.
• Develop and implement detailed lesson plans aligned with certification standards and industry best practices
• Assess student progress through practical demonstrations and written evaluations
• Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and confidence
• Maintain a safe and professional classroom environment adhering to health and safety regulations
• Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and techniques within the cosmetology field to ensure curriculum relevance
• Facilitate hands-on training sessions that enhance students’ technical skills in areas such as hair cutting, facial treatments, makeup application, and nail care
• Support students in preparing for licensing exams and career placement opportunities

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of cosmetology disciplines including hair styling, coloring, extensions, facials, makeup application, nail care
• Proven experience in adult education and classroom instruction with effective lesson planning abilities
• Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to cosmetology practices
• Excellent communication skills to engage diverse learners effectively
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
• Professional certification or licensure in cosmetology or related fields is preferred but not mandatory if extensive industry experience is demonstrated
• Passion for mentoring aspiring beauty professionals and fostering a positive learning environment
• Preferably bi-lingual. English and Spanish.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
