Salon Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support stylists and technicians, ensure smooth salon operations, and deliver exceptional customer service to our clients. Prior experience with salon software such as MangoMint, knowledge of hair smoothing/ treatments, hair extensions, color theory, and sanitation practices will be highly valued. This position is perfect for those eager to grow their career in cosmetology.

Duties

• Assist stylists with hair styling, hair smoothing & treatments
• Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients, offering beverages, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience
• Support store management with daily operations and mentoring new team members as needed
• Promote retail products through effective upselling techniques

Requirements

• Previous experience or familiarity with salon software such as MANGOMINT is preferred
• Knowledge of hair styling techniques, color theory, hair extensions, etc.
• Basic understanding of sanitation standards within a salon setting
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
• Experience in retail sales and retail math to support product upselling efforts
• Cosmetology or barbering certification/license is advantageous but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Enthusiasm for mentoring others and supporting team success
