Hair Stylist Assistant

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Hair Stylist Assistant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will support our stylists with a variety of tasks that enhance the client experience and ensure smooth salon operations. Your enthusiasm for hair care, exceptional customer service skills, and willingness to learn will help you thrive in this dynamic environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in hair styling, coloring, retail sales, and salon management.

• Assist stylists with hair styling, coloring, hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care services
• Prepare clients for appointments by performing consultations and explaining service options such as makeup application or hair threading
• Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards, including proper tool sterilization and workspace organization
• Manage front desk responsibilities like greeting clients, scheduling appointments using salon software such as MINDBODY, and checking clients in/out
• Support retail sales efforts through upselling products like hair care items, retail math calculations, and store management tasks
• Help with store organization, inventory management, and restocking supplies
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and addressing their needs promptly
• Previous experience or training in cosmetology or barbering is preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential
• Familiarity with salon software platforms like MINDBODY is a plus
• Knowledge of hair theory, sanitation practices, and professional styling techniques such as straight razor use or hair threading is advantageous
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience in retail sales or upselling techniques will be beneficial for supporting store management goals
