We are seeking a talented and personable Hair Stylist / Barber to join our dynamic salon located inside the Conrad Hotel. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hair styling and grooming, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves creating classic and stylish cuts, and blow outs for men, women, and children. The successful candidate will be skilled in both barbering and cosmetology techniques, with the ability to manage client consultations and foster a welcoming environment. Experience with retail sales, and upselling, is highly valued. This position offers opportunities for professional growth as you widen your expertise across various beauty services.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair styling, cutting, coloring, and grooming services tailored to client preferences
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and sanitation procedures in accordance with industry regulations
• Engage with clients through excellent communication skills to understand their needs and recommend suitable services or products
• Manage front desk duties such as greeting clients, and scheduling appointments
• Upsell retail products to enhance client experience
• Stay updated on current trends in hair styling, color theory, and grooming techniques to provide innovative services
• Assist in store management tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations

Skills

• Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring, and styling for diverse hair types
• Expertise in sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
• Skilled in barbering techniques including straight razor shaves and beard trimming
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients of all backgrounds
• Ability to perform makeup application and hair extension services when required
• Retail sales experience with upselling skills to promote product sales effectively
• Store management capabilities including inventory control and team mentoring are a plus
• Knowledge of retail math for pricing strategies and sales targets
