Licensed Cosmetologist

Overview

We are seeking a talented and professional Licensed Cosmetologist to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide a wide range of beauty and skincare services in a welcoming environment. Technicians are expected to uphold Room 17 standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Client Care & Services
• Perform luxury head spa treatments including shampoo rituals, scalp massage, steam therapy, and conditioning services
• Conduct professional scalp and hair analysis and recommend appropriate treatments and products
• Customize services based on client needs such as dryness, dandruff, sensitivity, buildup, or hair thinning
• Educate clients on scalp health, home care routines, and product usage
• Maintain a calm, elevated, and welcoming client experience from consultation to checkout

Sanitation & Safety

Follow California State Board sanitation, disinfection, and infection-control standards at all times

• Properly sanitize tools, bowls, brushes, linens, and treatment areas between clients
• Maintain a clean, organized, and spa-ready workstation
• Deliver excellent customer service by understanding client needs and providing personalized recommendations.

Professional Standards

Uphold Room 17 service protocols, timing standards, and treatment flow

• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a polished appearance
• Respect client privacy and confidentiality
• Accurately document services, notes, and client preferences

Team & Business Support

• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
• Assist with retail product knowledge and recommendations when appropriate
• Communicate clearly with management regarding supplies, client feedback, or concerns
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development
• Utilize salon management skilss for scheduling appointments and maintaining client records.
• Handle front desk duties including guest check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and payment processing.
• Engage with clients via social media platforms to promote services, special offers, and events.

Licensing Requirements

• Maintain an active California cosmetology license in good standing
• Perform only services permitted under cosmetology scope of practice
• Manage retail sales by recommending products and conducting product demos to clients.

Experience

• Valid Cosmetology license required with proven experience in a professional salon or med spa setting.
• Knowledge of social media management for marketing purposes is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills combined with excellent guest service abilities are essential.
• Background in retail sales, upselling techniques, and product demonstrations will be highly valued.
