Nova Arts Salon is seeking creative, driven, and team-oriented Salon Assistants to join our team.

This role is designed for individuals who are serious about building a long-term career in hair. As a Salon Assistant, you will work closely with our artists behind the chair, supporting daily services while developing your technical skills, awareness, and professionalism within a high-end salon environment.

What You’ll Do

Support Behind the Chair

• Assist stylists with shampooing, blow-drying, color prep, application, and finishing
• Anticipate artist needs and step in proactively during services
• Help maintain service timing and flow throughout the day

Maintain a High-End Environment

• Reset and prepare stations between every client
• Keep shampoo area, color bar, and back areas clean, stocked, and organized
• Run laundry consistently to maintain towel and robe supply
• Support overall cleanliness and presentation of the salon

Team Communication & Awareness

• Communicate clearly with stylists and front desk on timing and client flow
• Maintain awareness of the full salon floor and adjust support as needed
• Balance coverage across multiple artists and zones

Daily Operations

• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Receive and organize retail and supply deliveries
• Support inventory restocking and backbar organization

What We’re Looking For

• Valid California Cosmetology License
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of awareness, initiative, and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Coachable, team-oriented, and solution-focused mindset
• Professional presentation aligned with a high-end, creative salon environment

Growth Path

We offer a structured, long-term training pathway from assisting into working behind the chair. This program is designed to build strong technical skills, client awareness, and professional consistency to support long-term success within the salon.

Schedule & Expectations

• Part-time to full-time based on availability
• Must be punctual, reliable, and team-oriented
• Weekend availability preferred
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and assist with light lifting

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: From $18.10 per hour
