Location: Moxie Salon & Beauty Bar – Scarsdale, NY

Type: Part-Time | In-Person

Compensation: Hourly + Tips (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends

Our Scarsdale location is expanding, and we are seeking a versatile Makeup Artist / Salon Assistant who thrives in a client-facing, team-driven environment and is eager to grow within the beauty industry.

Role Overview

This hybrid role combines professional makeup services with hands-on salon support. You will deliver high-quality makeup services while also supporting daily salon operations, client experience, and team efficiency. This position is ideal for a makeup artist who enjoys variety, collaboration, and being an integral part of a high-performing salon.

Key Responsibilities

Makeup Services

• Perform professional makeup services, including Moxie Reveals and special-occasion makeup
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of makeup trends, techniques, and best practices
• Ensure a polished, consistent, luxury client experience

Client Experience & Front-of-House Support

• Greet clients, assist with check-in, booking, and checkout
• Process payments accurately and professionally
• Prepare clients for services, including beverages and station setup

Salon Operations & Team Support

• Assist stylists with client prep, shampoos, blowouts, and color mixing (as permitted by license)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon, stations, back bar, and laundry
• Restock products, towels, supplies, and beverage areas throughout the day

Sales, Marketing & Brand Promotion

• Recommend products, memberships, and services confidently
• Support community outreach, local networking, and outside sales initiatives
• Capture client before-and-after photos (with permission) and assist with social media content

Qualifications & Requirements

• Makeup artistry experience required (professional or salon-based preferred)
• Salon experience strongly preferred
• Cosmetology license, temporary license, or active beauty school permit (NY-compliant)
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Team-oriented, dependable, and professional in appearance and conduct
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
