Hair Stylist Assistant/ Apprentice

Overview I am seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hair Stylist Assistant to join me behind the chair. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the beauty industry, eager to develop their skills, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service. The assistant will support me with various salon operations, help maintain a welcoming environment, and gain valuable experience in hair styling and owning your own salon business.

Duties

• Assist McKenzie with treating clients to hair treatments, including hair extensions, hair color, and shampoo and blowdrying.
• Prepare clients for services by pulling past formulas, setting up tray, and serving refreshments.
• Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments using salon software like Square, greeting clients, and checking them in/out
• Support salon management tasks including maintaining clean salon, keeping up with inventory, scheduling appointments and creating great client experience.
• Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and ensuring proper salon hygiene practices are followed
• Assist with color mixing and application under supervision.
• Help with retail and assist clients with product recommendations
• Contribute to a positive team environment

Requirements

• Cosmetology license
• Morning and evening availability
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Ability to mix and apply color
• Understanding of sanitation standards within a salon setting
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Willingness to learn new skills such as store management tasks, advanced hair styling techniques, and the ins and outs of running your own salon business
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Apprenticeship, Internship

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
