Located in the heart of the elegant Upper West Side, Masa.Kanai is a Japanese salon dedicated to precision, skills, and the art of beauty. Rooted in Japanese technique and shaped by New York’s creative energy, we are seeking an experienced stylist to join our team. Ideal schedule would be Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays. Less or more days can be possible if it is a good match.

At Masa.Kanai, hairstyling is not simply a service. It is a disciplined craft. We are known for:

• Our Signature Technique: A multi-step cutting process designed to enhance shape, detail, and longevity.
• Custom, Patented Japanese Scissors: Handcrafted shears imported directly to our salon that elevates precise weight removal, purposeful texturing, cleaner lines, etc.
• Advanced Education: Weekly practices in which every team member can individually learn and practice new skills & techniques at their own pace with our educators

With consistently high booking demand, you will have immediate opportunities to expand your clientele. New members are also given a promotional period where new clients and no-request returns are prioritized to you. There is strong earning potential with a commission-based salary + gratuity where barber cuts average $90 and standard cuts average $165. The pay range on Indeed is to simply show the potential you have with commission and tip.

Pay: $35.00 - $100.00 per hour
