Himitsukichi salon is a Japanese hair salon located in the Times Square area. It's basically commission -based system, but we also hire stylists who don't have regular clients on an hourly basis.

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Cosmetologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various beauty treatments and services, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the highest standards of sanitation and professionalism. This role requires creativity, technical skills, and the ability to connect with clients to enhance their beauty experience.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of cosmetology services including hair styling, hair cuts, permanent waves, hair dye etc.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with industry regulations.
Utilize salon software (such as Square appointment) for scheduling appointments and managing client records.
Provide excellent guest services by addressing client needs and concerns promptly.
Engage in retail sales by recommending products that suit clients' needs and preferences.
Conduct product demos to educate clients on proper usage of beauty products.
Manage social media accounts to promote services and engage with the community.
Assist with front desk operations including appointment scheduling and customer inquiries.
Upsell services and products to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Proven experience in cosmetology with a valid cosmetology license.
Familiarity with management practices within a salon environment is preferred.
Knowledge of color theory, sanitation practices, and customer service excellence.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Projected Total Compensation: From $16.50 per hour
