Salon Assistant (Future Stylist Path) – Join Our Professional Team

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone currently pursuing a career in cosmetology who wants hands-on experience inside a fast-paced, professional salon environment.

As a Salon Assistant, you will work closely with our stylists to ensure seamless service for every client while developing your own technical skills and industry knowledge. Responsibilities

• Assist stylists with salon services including shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying, and preparing tools and products.
• Prepare clients for services by providing capes, towels, beverages, and ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
• Maintain salon cleanliness and organization, including styling stations, shampoo areas, tools, and common spaces.
• Support the team with daily salon operations to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule.
• Assist with retail recommendations and promote professional haircare products to clients.
• Provide exceptional client service by greeting guests, offering refreshments, and helping deliver a premium salon experience.
• Stay engaged in learning about color theory, hair treatments, styling techniques, and salon best practices.
• Support stylists during color services, treatments, and other technical services when appropriate.
• Answer salon phone calls if, assist clients with inquiries, and help manage appointment scheduling when needed.
• Assist with checking clients in and out, including processing payments and ensuring a smooth checkout experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year attending an accredited beauty or cosmetology school required.
• Passion for the beauty industry and a strong desire to grow into a professional stylist.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
• Professional attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
• Experience in a salon environment is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with salon software or booking systems is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.70 - $19.00 per hour
