Hair Salon Assistant

We are currently hiring Salon Assistants to work in the the heart of the West Village

Operating from a beautiful, historic brownstone, Damian West Salon is a stylish and sophisticated New York City hair salon in the West Village. Excelling in aspirational hair services within its relaxed, cosmopolitan environment, Damian West welcomes you with a creative & inspired team of highly-trained colorists and stylists specializing in the best cuts, color, styling, extensions, hair thickening and other luxurious hair care.

Who are we looking for?

• Current cosmetology student or NY State cosmetology license (temporary licenses welcome)
• Prior experience in a salon environment is a plus

• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, detailed-oriented environment
• Solid understanding haircare basics, product usage, and salon flow
• Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Ability to maintain composure and poise under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide support to stylists including shampooing, conditioning treatments, and basic blow-drying
• Prepare service areas, sanitize tools, and ensure the salon remains immaculate throughout the day
• Manage laundry, restocking, and product organization
• Uphold the salon's luxury standards in every guest interaction

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
