We are a concierge, patient-centered dermatology practice located in Chelsea, NYC. Our team is committed to providing exceptional medical and cosmetic dermatologic care while maintaining a warm, efficient, and professional environment. We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist who is comfortable flexing between clinical and administrative duties to support our practice during our busiest season.

Position Overview

The Per-Diem Dermatology MA/Front Desk Receptionist will support both the clinical team and front office operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in dermatology workflows. Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required, along with at least 1–2 years of dermatology-specific experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical / Medical Assistant Duties

Prepare exam rooms, sanitize instruments, and ensure readiness for patient visits.
Room patients, update medical histories, and document appropriately in eClinicalWorks.
Assist providers with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures (biopsies, excisions, injections, laser treatments, etc.).
Perform clinical tasks including specimen labeling, photographing lesions, preparing punch or shave biopsy trays, and scribing as needed.
Provide post-care instructions and patient education following procedures.

Front Desk / Administrative Duties

Greet and check in/out patients with a warm and professional demeanor.
Schedule appointments, manage schedule changes, and maintain accuracy in eClinicalWorks.
Verify insurance, collect copays/balances, and process payments.
Answer high-volume phone calls, return messages, and support efficient patient flow.
Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and patient portal messaging when needed.
Ensure front desk operations stay organized, timely, and patient-friendly.

Required Qualifications

1+ years of experience in a dermatology practice (medical and/or cosmetic).
Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) — scheduling, charting, clinical documentation, and messaging.
Comfortable supporting both clinical MA tasks and front desk responsibilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume practice.
Excellent communication, professionalism, and patient service skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Availability to work per diem during busy periods (coverage for staff absences, high-patient-volume days, or seasonal demand).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience assisting with cosmetic dermatology procedures.
Familiarity with dermatology billing basics (CPT/ICD-10, prior auths) is a plus.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 36 per week
