Part-Time Aesthetician Position

Advanced Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine is seeking a part-time Licensed Aesthetician to support our growing cosmetic and medical dermatology services! Our practice is physician-led, with two board-certified dermatologists a physician assistant, and an aesthetician, and is focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based dermatologic and aesthetic care.

This position is support-focused and designed to complement our existing aesthetic services while contributing to patient education, continuity of care, and long-term treatment planning. The ideal candidate is clinically minded, patient-centered, and thrives in a collaborative medical environment.

This role offers the opportunity to grow alongside an expanding practice, develop strong provider relationships, and build a loyal patient base over time. We envision this to grow into an eventual full-time position.

Position Overview

The Aesthetician will work closely with a best-in-class team to deliver safe, effective aesthetic treatments aligned with dermatologic standards of care. This role emphasizes patient support, education, and retention rather than high-pressure sales.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Aesthetician License
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical aesthetics and/or dermatology setting
  • Strong understanding of skin conditions, treatment indications, and contraindications
  • Experience working in an EMR system (Nextech preferred)
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Google-based platforms
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and bedside manner
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, physician-led environment
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • Commitment to patient safety, compliance, and clinical excellence

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medical-grade laser and energy-based devices, including:

  • Aerolase
  • Cutera Excel V

Experience with

  • Superficial and medium-depth chemical peels (including TCA)
  • Microneedling (with and without PRP)
  • RF microneedling (e.g., Morpheus)

Familiarity with medical-grade skincare lines

Interest in assisting with patient education, retention initiatives, and practice growth

Comfort supporting social media or marketing initiatives (educational content, before/after coordination)

Ethical sales experience/ability pertinent to cosmetic services

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care

  • Perform aesthetic treatments within the scope of licensure and practice protocols
  • Conduct thorough patient consultations and skin assessments
  • Review and explain treatment plans, expectations, risks, and consents
  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-treatment education and follow-up
  • Identify, communicate, and appropriately escalate complications or concerns
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Patient Experience & Retention

  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for aesthetic patients
  • Support continuity of care and long-term treatment planning
  • Foster patient trust through education and ethical recommendations
  • Follow up with patients to ensure satisfaction and adherence to care plans

Revenue & Practice Support

  • Educate patients on appropriate treatments and skincare products based on clinical needs
  • Support ethical service and product recommendations
  • Assist with scheduling coordination and patient communication through the patient portal

Team & Practice Collaboration

  • Work closely with providers and clinical staff to support integrated care
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and efficient clinical environment
  • Support practice initiatives related to growth, quality improvement, and patient education

Schedule

  • Part-time position, with the potential to develop into a full-time role
  • Evening and Saturday availability required (Monday–Saturday)
  • Shifts may vary based on clinic needs

Education & Licensure

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited aesthetics program
  • Active Aesthetician License (Illinois)

Compensation

  • Hourly base pay plus commission on services and product sales
  • Performance-based earning potential, with experienced aestheticians earning approximately $25–$50 per hour, depending on experience, productivity, commercial ability, and patient volume
